1. Minutes of meeting held 24th February 2009

2. Matters Arising
· Official Sweeney Bridge Opening: Confirmed date 7th June @ 1:00 p.m.
· GC Gold – PSI Holdover
· Ladies Changing room & showers – New ventilation on order

3. Correspondence
· EGU – Request to hold Essex v Middlesex seniors 12/7/10 – agreed subject to diary
· Letter from J. Williams concerning disruption of Ladies Day – Board to discuss with proprietor

4. Treasurer’s Report
· Accounts circulated.
· MG investigating bank account options due to current bank now applying bank charges. Agreed to monitor situation.
· KT to discuss interclub event invoicing with LH catering Ltd.
· KT arranged for 3 courtesy buggies for Thorndon & L/Wood. MG to have invoice changed.

5. Captain’s Report
· Captain pleased to report that the L/Wood team won and progressed to next round. Also the Norman Plum team beat 3 Rivers and Jubilee cup team have had a victory.
· Captains’ Charity Golf Day arranged for 20th July 2009. Members £15 & non-members £25
· Captains’ Day arranged for 8th August 2009. This will be a course closure. Event to be 27 holes Cost £25

6. Management Report / Course Report
· S. Isabel returning to work for LHGC following redundancy.
· J. Bishop working on short term contract to assist in peak growing season.
· C. Isabel will work part-time until September.
· Weed spraying contracted & rough height reduced to 38mm
· Irrigation: Quotation being arranged for essential repairs and minor upgrade.
· Due to staff shortages Horndon bunkers were not well maintained recently but extra staff should alleviate this problem. Will carry out course survey with Board with a view to remove some bunkers to cut workload.

7. Lady Captain’s Report
· J Morgan & L Campbell won through to 3rd round Munro Foursomes – well done
· Complaints with conference people using ground floor facility and Ladies unable to find seating or obtain service at bar.

8. Senior Captain’s Report
· Recently played two matches. Won against Stapleford Abbotts at home and lost narrowly away to Stockbrook.

9. Competition Secretary Report
· No major concerns.

10. Handicap Secretary Report
· Nothing to report.

11. Juniors Report
· Nothing to report

12. Social Secretary Report
· Summer Ball: Tickets on sale to members (no limit on guests).

13. Any other business:
· Board is investigating CASC to reduce rates.
· Request for notice to members and green fees explaining insurance scheme so that people ‘own up’ at reception if they have caused damage.
· H&S Committee meeting planned for 1st June 2009
